Your PDF never leaves this device

Add page numbers to a PDF
without uploading it.

Pick a format, a corner and the number to start from. Every page in front of you shows its number as you go, and the file gets exactly that.

Vuiso Add Page Numbers showing a five-page document with Page 1 of 5 to Page 5 of 5 at the foot of each page, including a landscape page and a sideways scan

The text under each page is exactly what that page will get, so a skipped cover or a range typed wrongly shows up before the file is written.

What it does

Numbers that land where you put them,
on every kind of page

The number is real text drawn into the page, so it prints, it can be searched, and the rest of the document is left exactly as it was.

Every page tells you its number

Under each page in the grid is the exact text it will get: Page 3 of 9, iv, or whatever you wrote. The preview is laid out with the same font tables and page box the file is written with, so what you check is what you save.

Ready-made formats, or your own words

1, Page 1, 1 / 10, Page 1 of 10 or - 1 -. Or write your own text with {n} for the number and {total} for the last one, such as Hal. {n} or {n} | Annual Report. Ordinary digits or Roman numerals, starting from any number.

Skip the cover, or number only some pages

Every page, every page except the first, only the ones you click, or a range you type such as 2-10, 12-. The count runs over the pages that get a number, so Page 9 of 9 always means nine numbered pages.

Any corner, mirrored for printing

Top or bottom; left, centre or right, at a distance from the edge you set. For a document printed double-sided, swap left and right on even pages so the number stays on the outer edge of every sheet.

Right way up on sideways scans

A scanned page often carries a rotation of its own. The number is placed against the page as you see it, so a footer lands along the bottom of a sideways scan and reads level, and a cropped page gets its number inside the part that shows.

Your document, otherwise untouched

Nothing is re-encoded or rebuilt. Bookmarks, links, form fields and searchable text all survive, and a number already printed on a page stays too: this tool adds, it never erases.

Privacy

Not a promise.
Your file simply never leaves.

Most free online PDF tools send your file to somebody else's computer, then ask you to trust that it really was deleted afterwards. That is a strange bargain for a contract, a thesis or a report you are about to hand in. Vuiso does not work that way: everything happens inside your own device, exactly like opening a file in a program installed on your computer. Your file never leaves your machine.

The easiest way to check: switch off your Wi‑Fi or unplug your internet, then use it as usual. Everything still works. A tool that quietly sends your file to someone else's server could not do that. As an extra safeguard, the page is locked down from the start, so your own browser blocks anything that tries to send data out.

When you use Vuiso

  • Your file is opened and processed on your own device
  • The result saves straight to your own folder
  • Keeps working with the internet switched off
  • No file is ever sent over the internet
  • No account, no email, no sign-in
  • No copy of your file on our servers

The keys worth knowing

Clicking a page while "Every page" is set switches to "Selected pages" for you, and says so. Otherwise the clicking would have done nothing.

  2. Open a PDF Click "Open PDF", or drop the file onto the page area.
  3. Set the number Pick a format and a corner, then choose which pages get one.
  4. Save "Save PDF" writes the file with the numbers drawn onto it.

One file at a time, numbered in the order its pages are already in, so reorder pages with Organize PDF first. The numbers are text drawn into the page: they print and can be searched, and a number already on a page is not removed. Bookmarks, links, form fields and searchable text all survive.
