The two passwords are not the same.
Nobody can open the file without this. There is no way to recover it, not from us and not from anyone - write it down somewhere safe before you save.
What the reader may do
These are requests, not walls. Every serious reader honours them, and a reader that chooses not to still can - the contents are encrypted, the restrictions are not.
Owner password
A second password that lifts the restrictions above. Give the first password to readers and keep this one, and they can open the file but not, say, print it.
The owner password cannot be the same as the password to open.
